So... no teaching jobs on the islands... but, to be fair, we're not trying quite as hard as we should be; it's just too damn beautiful here to think about work right now; consequently, we've made the executive decision to indulge in a little hedonistic R&R while the weather's great and we're in the midsts of some of the most amazing beaches in the world. Yesterday we took a high speed catamaran to the tiny island of Ko Tao north of Samui. Ko Tao is quaint, charming, and stunningly lush and beautiful; small palm lined walking paths, open air markets, long tail boats, and a super chilled out but very alive night culture has officially made Koh Tao one of our favs so far.
We arrived safely at Mae Hat pier.
The beach outside the crib. Nice.
Marko says that no matter how tan I get, Ty is always two shades darker - case and point.
Okay, so Ty stumbled upon these street vendors. They actually roll out fresh dough on that grill there, then they fry it up in butter, add fresh fillings of your choice and top the whole concoction off with gobs of chocolate, coconut, or whatever else the heck your little heart desires. They call it a "pancake." They're good for you.
In this particular instance, Ty settled on banana, chocolate, and peanuts- as you can see - she's gruntled.

We concluded our arduous day of pancake eating with an ocean-side dip in the infinity pool.
So where next? The plan is to check out the middle island of Phangnan on our way back to the mainland; after another week or so of indulgence, then it's back to the job hunting grind in Phuket. Another place on our itinerary and settling possibility could be the internal northern province of Chiang Mai; Dad, I assure you there will be a picture of Ty and I on top of an elephant as promised within a month. Keep looking.
Hugs, kisses, and misses...
